StressBusters is the pioneer in the Prenatal/Post Partum/Infant Massage Field. With our specialization that began in 1993, we have helped thousands of women enjoy a comfortable and joyous pregnancy. Along with our pregnancy massage at our facility, we also work on the labor and delivery floor at two local hospitals. We have also partnered with Mission Hospital and do massage at their Valiant Spa. In addition we are referred to by Orange Coast Women’s Medical Group, Mission Ob/Gyn Medical Group, Women’s Medical Group of Irvine, Hoag Ob/Gyn SouthCoast Midwifery and The Yoga Place, to name just a few. Finally, we offer in-home massage for high-risk moms who may be on bed-rest.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage
This massage is a professional service provided ONLY by specially certified Pregnancy Massage Therapists. The prenatal massages are conducted with the mom in a side lying and semi-reclining position while relaxing on custom made hydraulic tables. These amazing tables suspend mom in a position of nearly weightlessness so the therapist can release and soothe every achey muscle and joint. Our therapists can eliminate both the physical and emotional stresses that are associated with your pregnancy. If you are blessed with a pregnancy without discomforts, our massages will deeply pamper and nurture you while also increasing the possibility of a quicker labor and with less medical interventions. If you do however, have pregnancy related complaints, this work will reduce or eliminate back, leg, neck & sciatic pain; reduce edema, swelling, leg cramps, pelvic pressure, hip and shoulder pain.
Pre-natal massage allows you a greater range of motion and activity longer into your pregnancy as well as assisting in more comfortable sleeping. Recent clinical evidence shows by receiving pre-natal massages by properly certified therapists, moms have a shorter, less painful labor and with fewer medical interventions.
You won’t get a feather-light massage from our staff, either (unless that is your desire). Since we are properly educated and highly experienced, we know how to work with a pressure that is effective, safe and deliciously deep while also nurturing to both mom and baby.
Some massage facilities will not work on a pregnant woman in one trimester or another. This is a wise legal precaution for them because their therapists may not be properly prenatal certified or are minimally educated in Prenatal Massage. StressBusters however, stands alone as the premier prenatal provider in southern California! We have specialized in prenatal massage in Orange County for 20 years. Our work has received several awards in the community, has been featured in the LA Times, OC Register and on the OC TV News channel. Since our therapists know how to position you correctly, you and your baby(s) are perfectly safe with us during all three trimesters.
We have earned the trust (and exclusive) referral from Saddleback Hospital, Mission Hospital, High Risk Physicians, Doulas, Mid-wives, Prenatal Yoga teachers and local OB/GYN’s. StressBusters is the facility that the female OB’s frequent when they themselves are expecting.

Post Partum Massage
Post Partum Massage
Our Post Partum Stomach Rehabilitation℠ is a Service Marked (SM) massage series that will coach the stomach muscles to return to the proper pre-pregnant position in the mom’s core. Consequently, mom can then safely strengthen her core stomach muscles. If left untreated, the excess strain and stress on back muscles that take the strain of a separated rectus can cause disc herniation and/or lower back pain for many years. We have become experts at helping moms restore their rectus to it’s proper position. We can show you how to check yourself for your degree of rectus diasti at your first appointment post birth. This massage series consists of six post partum massages within approximately a 13 week timespan.
For those moms with Baby Blues or Post Partum Depression, our Professional Aromatherapist offers a post partum mom essential oil blends customized to her needs (aromatherapy consult an additional fee). This special blend will be used in her post partum massage and mom will leave with a personal aromatic inhaler to use at home (Click Here to see our Clinical Aromatherapy Massage offerings). Please read some case study information below concerning the effectiveness of aromatherapy with the post partum mom.

Other case studies included 2,131 participants found an aromatherapy intervention improved postpartum physiological and psychological health, with positive effects shown on anxiety, depression, distress, fatigue, mood, nipple fissure pain, physical pain, post-cesarean-delivery pain, post-cesarean-delivery nausea, postepisiotomy pain, postepisiotomy recovery, sleep quality, and stress with no side effects.
Benefits of massage for the postpartum mom include:
- Reduced swelling. Many mothers find that their body swells during labor. Massaging can help to redistribute water within the body and encourage the draining and circulation of excess fluids.
- Improved milk production. For moms seeking an increase in their breast milk supply, massage can be a great way to increase circulation and the necessary hormones to make this happen.
- Hormone regulation. The postpartum body is one of constantly fluctuating hormones. In addition to touch, many massages involve essential oils that may help elevate one’s mood and may encourage hormonal balance.
- Reduced anxiety and depression. Many new parents experience the “baby blues” or even postpartum depression. Getting a massage can help to decrease stress contributing to these anxious and depressed feelings.
- Better sleep. Everyone knows new parents need as much sleep as they can get! Massage can help parents relax and get their body ready for deep, restorative sleep.
There is no exact timeline for how frequently you should get postpartum massages except for our Post Partum series. We recommend every two or three weeks for the six sessions and then according to your needs and desires.

Induction Massage
Induction Massage
There have been vast amounts of research done regarding the detrimental effects of delivering your baby early. Therefore, StressBusters promotes waiting until your due date to birth your baby.
Research shows that a baby’s brain at 35 weeks weighs only two-thirds what it will weigh at 39 to 40 weeks (StressBusters will NOT perform this massage prior to your due date. We REQUIRE a note from your doctor indicating your Due Date).
The March of dimes has done extensive research regarding fetal development during the last three weeks of your pregnancy, which they discovered that:
- Important organs, like his/her brain, lungs and liver get the time they need to develop.
- He/she is less likely to have hearing and vision problems after birth.
- He/she has time to gain more weight in the womb. Babies born at a healthy weight have an easier time staying warm than babies that are born too small.
- He/she can suck and swallow and stay awake long enogh to eat after he is born. Babies born early sometimes can’t do these things.
March of Dimes.

Should you be at or past your due date, StressBusters’ Induction Massage is perfect for helping induce labor in a safe, natural way. There are pressure points on your body that are known for kick-starting labor. We avoid these during a standard prenatal massage, but use them to our advantage when you need help getting your new baby here. We’ll relax you and ease your pain with our prenatal massage expertise while aiding in your baby’s swift and safe arrival.
To reiterate StressBusters will NOT perform an Induction Massage prior to your due date. We will need a letter from your doctor advising us of your due date as well as their referral to perform an Induction Massage.
